Traps and story · persona.yaml

expired Fifteen years of things that ran out and were kept. The hearing aid warranty ended in March 2026 and the RAV4's basic warranty in May 2025.

expiring_soon Ray's passport runs out in about eight weeks, before the anniversary trip to Norway they are planning for 2027. The truck's registration and policy and the dishwasher warranty end within weeks.

near_duplicate Each current policy sits next to last year's. Peg has an old and a new passport. Two diamond solitaire rings, hers and her mother's. Old and new doses of the same drug. Two jewelry appraisals eight years apart, whose names no longer say which is current. Two years of the accountant's summary. The 2019 wills and the 2003 ones are both still in the grey box, per two notes. Not every expired policy is labelled as such any more; the dates say it.

someone_elses Peg and Ray each have one of nearly everything, an IRA statement included. Both take atorvastatin, at different doses. Only Peg's health care power of attorney is scanned. "My" means Peg's.

two_of_a_kind Two houses, each with its own policy, deed, tax bills and contents. Each policy has its own rule about freezing while the place is empty, with different numbers. Three cars, one of them sold. Two dogs, one of them dead.

too_many Receipts (338), health records (77), bills (52), service receipts (38), warranties (31), vaccinations (28), mileage readings (26), electronics (26), jewelry (20). A question about "all" of any of these cannot be answered from a partial read; a good answer gives the whole list or says the list is partial.

only_in_file The facts kept in one file and nowhere else. The long-term care daily benefit ($272.27) is only on the schedule. The life policy's cash value is only on its statement. The cabin's wind deductible ($7,700) and its theft and tree limits are only on its declarations. The house policy's jewelry sublimit, water backup limit and the rule about leaving the house empty in winter (condition 6.4, on page 5 of 8) are only in the policy. Ray's LDL of 68 is only on the lab sheet. Adjusted gross income for 2025 ($116,640) and for 2024 ($109,870) is only in each year's summary. The truck's title number is only on the title (that there is no lien also follows from the purchase receipt's "no loan"). The value of Peg's IRA is only on its statement. The septic system's design and the county's three-year pumping rule are only on the permit.

only_in_file Facts that are in no record field but overlap across files, in different words. The appraised values of the Omega ($4,150) and the pearls ($1,900) are in the 2024 appraisal and on the valuables schedule; the 2016 appraisal has older figures. The successor trustees and the specific gifts are in the trust. What happens to the cabin is in the trust (sold), in the amendment that replaced that paragraph (kept by the three children; the saved amendment is a scan with no text) and in the lawyer's letter that explains the amendment. Ray's 2026 required withdrawal ($28,012.02) is on the IRA statement and in the advisor's letter, and the 2025 tax summary gives it as "about $28,000". The porch change order is in the contract; the receipt says only that the porch came in $800 over.

only_in_note Four facts kept strictly in a note. (1) The boats: hull, motor and registration numbers, in note-boats; the app has no record for a boat and no title or registration is saved. (2) The septic tank was last pumped on August 14, 2024, in note-cabin-closing; the permit gives only the three-year rule. (3) Where the two keys to the safe deposit box are and that Ellen is on the signature card, in note-accounts-and-box. (4) Their burial wishes (cremation, which space is whose, the hymns), in note-burial-plots. No longer only in a note, since the second pass: Ray's allergies (also in the 2019 discharge summary, the 2022 knee packet and the 2026 portal screenshot), the box number 417 and the monthly income (both on the August checking printout), the plots themselves (the cemetery certificate) and the well pump's breaker (the 2020 pump report).

only_in_note Only in the journal: what Ray asked the cardiologist, the night nurse's name, where the sourdough starter came from and its name, who named the dog, her mother's and Lorraine's last words, where she was when three of the grandchildren were born, Don's funeral, and the morning of Arnie's stroke.

not_saved Ray has no birth certificate saved, though Peg has hers. No marriage certificate is saved. The boats are insured but have no title or registration saved. The RAV4 has no title document; the F-150 does, twice over. The CR-V's title was signed over without being copied. Neither will is scanned, nor Ray's health care power of attorney, nor any tax return, only the accountant's summaries for 2024 and 2025. None of the children's or grandchildren's SSNs or passports are saved. Why each is missing is under fact_sheet.missing.

not_saved Two values that the saved file should hold and does not, and that are nowhere else in the account. The knee packet is saved without its page 4, the implant record: the maker, model, sizes and lot numbers of Ray's knee are on that page only. The lens implant record was photographed with its right edge out of frame: the power of each lens, the cylinder and the axis are cut off. (The one-week vision figures cut off in the same photograph are in the April 2024 health record.) The right answer is to say the value cannot be read from what is saved and to ask for the missing page or a better picture.

only_in_file The other hard files. The trust amendment is a scan with no text layer. The 1986 deed is a faint copy of a typed deed, also without text: the names of the sellers were typed darker and are clear, while the price ($84,500.00) is very faint; the price is in no record or note. The portal page for Ray is a screenshot, and its last section (the next appointment) is below the edge of the picture. The bunkhouse contract has the printed one-year workmanship warranty struck out and "two years" written in and initialled. The truck's title is saved twice: a clean PDF, and a telephone photograph with glare across the title number and the left edge cut.

mismatch Ray's sulfa allergy. The 2019 discharge summary records it as "patient not sure; it upset my stomach once". Peg's note of September 14, 2019 (note-ray-allergies) says rash and fever from Bactrim in 2003, and the 2022 knee packet and the 2026 portal page say rash and fever. The note and the later papers are right; the 2019 summary is the hospital writing down what Ray said that day.

mismatch Paragraph 7.2 of the 2019 trust says the cabin is to be sold. The 2023 amendment replaced that paragraph: the cabin goes to the three children, cannot be sold for five years unless all agree, and $60,000 is set aside for it. The amendment is right. The trust also names five grandchildren for the $15,000 gifts; the amendment makes it every grandchild, so June is included.

someone_elses Peg and Ray each have a debit card PIN, a telephone code, a patient portal login, a Social Security login and an email password. "My" means Peg's.

not_saved Open reminders about documents that are still not saved: Ray's birth certificate, the marriage certificate and the RAV4's title.

expiring_soon The reminders for what runs out or falls due within weeks of the build day: the dishwasher warranty, the truck's registration and insurance, Ray's passport and the boat storage bill.
