What it says

Hannah, at the cabin for the summer, June 21 to about August 10. The arrangements, as agreed with Ellen ("Treat her like a boarder, not a guest"): - She sleeps in the bunkhouse: lower bunk, lake side. - Work: the Paddle & Easel Gallery in Minocqua, Tuesday to Saturday, 10 to 5. She leaves at 9:20. - She drives the RAV4 to work. Linda Schroedl says a licensed grandchild driving it with our leave is covered as things stand, and to tell her if it becomes a habit beyond the summer. Ray took her round the car for forty minutes. She is to telephone if she will be later than 6. - Sundays and Mondays are her own. - She does her own laundry and one supper a week. FOOD. She has not eaten meat or fish since October 2023 and is not going to start in a fishing cabin. What that means for the kitchen: - Beans, lentils, eggs, cheese, the pressed bean curd Ray grills for her on its own side of the grate. - No chicken broth in the soup. No bacon fat in the beans. No fish sauce in anything. I have had to read my own recipes. - She eats everything else.
