R. has a new knee. Dr. Rasmusson came out at 11:10 and said it went as planned, and that the old joint looked like a gravel road.
Ben Haldorson drove down from Northfield and sat with R. in the room before they took him, and the two of them talked about walleye for twenty minutes: where, how deep, on what.
I knew where to park this time.
He is on the fourth floor again, in a different wing. He was awake by two with his leg in a machine that bends it for him, watching it go up and down with professional interest. He stays one night.
