What it says
On Friday I put the last nine of R.'s pain tablets into the drop box at Heron Lane. He took eleven of the twenty and wanted the rest out of the house.
He walks with a cane indoors now and goes to therapy twice a week with a young woman named Megan. He may not drive until January. I have learned where he keeps the ice scraper (under the seat of the truck, not in the RAV4, where one might need it).
I am reading "Demon Copperhead" a chapter at a time in waiting rooms. It is five hundred pages of other people's trouble, and it has been a help.
I am tired.
