What it says
Going north tomorrow, to stay. What goes, in two vehicles:
The truck (Ray, the dog): the Bernina in its case, wedged with quilts; the cutting mat; two tubs of fabric; Ray's hand tools and the small lathe; Birdie's crate; the chest freezer's contents in three coolers.
The CR-V (me): Sigrid; 40 lb of flour and 10 of sugar; the pills, ninety days of everything for both of us, in the blue tote with the list from Heron Lane; his meter and strips; the blood pressure cuff; the thermometer; the laptop; the box of masks; the bird books; eleven library books that are not due until the library reopens.
Arranged:
- Mail: Marlene collects it and sends it on every Monday in one big envelope, care of general delivery, Minocqua. I have left her 20 envelopes, stamped.
- The house: furnace off, water heater on vacation, Marlene has the key, the neighbour boy mows.
- Earl has had the water on since Wednesday.
- Heron Lane will mail refills.
- Dr. Raghavan's office knows where we are. Sawbill Clinic in Woodruff can draw blood for her.
- Groceries: Northgate Foods will bring an order out to the car. Telephone it in the day before.
Jim is not coming for the opener.
