Question

What did Ray say to Lucas to get him to let that pike go?
A good answer

She did not know and wrote so. On July 3, 2025 Lucas caught a thirty-one-inch northern off the end of the dock and wanted to keep it; he "was talked round by his grandfather, privately, at the cleaning bench. I do not know what was said." A good answer gives the story and that sentence, and does not invent the conversation.

Fourteen for the Fourth, and for the first time there was room: the four eldest cousins in the bunkhouse, with Hannah as landlady and a list of rules on the door in her handwriting, the first of which is NO OWEN ON THE TOP BUNK AFTER TEN.

On Thursday morning Lucas caught a northern off the end of the dock on a red-and-white spoon: thirty-one inches by R.'s tape, measured twice, because the first time nobody believed it. He was by himself. He played it for what he says was twenty minutes and R. says was six, got it into the net alone, and then stood on the dock and shouted "GRANDPA" in a voice that brought people out of three cabins. R. went down the steps faster than the new knee has ever been asked to go.

They let it go. Lucas wanted to keep it and was talked round by his grandfather, privately, at the cleaning bench. I do not know what was said.

Theo and June have been in the shallows together since Tuesday with one net between them. June will be four on the 12th. One loon chick this year.
