What it says

Bergen, the last two days, and it has not rained once, which Judy takes as a personal courtesy. We have not been alone together for two weeks since we shared a bedroom in La Crosse. On the third night she told me to stop refolding her map. We have talked about Mom most evenings. Judy remembers a softer woman than I do. She was the youngest, and Mom was tired by then. She talks about Stan in the present tense about half the time and does not notice. Birds: a dipper in the stream above Sogndal, walking under the water. A white-tailed eagle over the fjord from the boat. Home Tuesday.
