What it says
approved. all of it, with six small changes. the call was yesterday and I waited a day to write because I wanted to see if I still believed it.
Wanjiru wanted to cut the four-panel waiting spread and Liesl, from her kitchen in Bemidji, said "that's exactly what waiting looks like," and that was that. authors can do that, apparently. they can just say a thing and it stays.
Liesl wants her father's real handwriting on the last page, the actual "1961," scanned from the notebook. I said yes before Odette could. you don't redraw a man's handwriting.
invoiced the second payment. three thousand. I typed the number and laughed out loud alone in the apartment.
