All of this went through the district benefits office and the state retirement system, and I have a folder for each. 1. Pension (Wisconsin Retirement System): application filed in March. I chose the option that keeps paying Ray if I go first; the amount is on the annuity statement. First payment July 1, by direct deposit to the credit union, and the first of every month after. 2. Health insurance: we both stay in the school district's retiree group with Kettlestone, at our own cost, from July 1. Ray until his Medicare starts in May 2018, I until mine in April 2020. New cards are to come by mail. 3. Dental: none, after June 30. We pay Dr. Aumann ourselves. 4. Life insurance through the district ends. I have my own term policy with Norhaven. 5. Last paycheck June 15. 6. Keys turned in June 9 (four). Library card: kept. Brought home: two boxes, the reading-corner rocking chair (mine, bought in 1991, with a receipt I can produce), and one withdrawn copy of "Charlotte's Web." Tell Denise in March: half a year of salary and half a year of pension on the 2017 return. |
