Maeve's ten-year quilt: bound this afternoon. No. 52. "Night Sky." Twin, 70 x 90. A navy ground with forty pieced stars in whites, creams and three golds, and stitched in pale thread from star to star, the Big Dipper and Orion as they stood over Denver on the night of March 9, 2016. David worked out the positions. Backing and binding in plain navy. Quilted by Kathleen Laufenberg in an all-over swirl. Label: "For Maeve Dorothy, ten years old, from Grandma Peg, 2026. No. 52. Look up." Four ten-year quilts made. Theo in 2028 and June in 2031. It will be posted when we are home, on February 27, to arrive before the 9th.
