Question

What's the deductible on the house insurance if hail damages the roof?
A good answer

1% of the dwelling limit, $4,120. The record has only the $1,000 general deductible and Leah's 2025 note says only that it is a percent; the figure is on the declarations page and in the policy booklet.

4,120

bodyhail last night, marble size, maybe 10 minutes. dings on the gutters + the grill cover. can't see the roof from the ground Greg has a roofer coming Tues, he'll look at ours called Denise: wind/hail has its OWN deductible, a percent of the dwelling amount, not the flat 1,000. don't file unless the roofer finds real damage 6/24 - roofer says shingles are fine. no claim
Traps it covers

two_of_a_kind A current and a previous policy for the house and for the Outback, two debit cards on one account, two Wi-Fi networks.

only_in_file The 1% wind and hail deductible ($4,120) is only in the policy declarations and the booklet; Leah's hail note says only "a percent". The booklet is the long document. Two of its clauses matter: the special limit of $1,500 for theft of jewelry (the ring, appraised at $6,800, was never scheduled), and the freezing clause (no cover for frozen pipes while the house is unoccupied unless the heat is kept on or the water is shut off and drained), which matters for sixteen nights away in December.
