What it says
No church. Pastor Kristin sent a letter on Friday and read the service this morning to a camera in an empty sanctuary. We watched it at the kitchen table on R.'s telephone, propped against the sugar bowl, and said the responses to each other.
Ellen telephoned last night with orders. We are not to go into a store. She will have groceries sent. Her father has a stent and diabetes and is sixty-six, and she said the numbers for men like him, plainly, and I wrote them down. R. listened on the extension and said afterward, "So we stay home. We know how to stay home."
Everything has closed inside of four days. The Friends have called off the spring book sale, and the book club will "see about April."
