What it says

Dr. Niemczyk saw his last patient today. Open house at the office from three to five, and the waiting room so full that people stood in the parking lot. Twenty-nine years. He told R. the truth about his sugar, and sat with me in the spring of 2014 and did not press. When my turn came in the line I found I had prepared nothing. He took my hand and said, "Margaret. Take your calcium." He is going to fish, he says, in Montana. The practice closes. Our charts go to Arbor Bluff, and in August we each see a Dr. Raghavan, whom he chose for us himself. R. is suspicious of her in advance.
