What it says

On Thursday a gemologist named Ingrid Solheim came to the house and appraised the jewelry for the insurance. She laid it all out on a gray cloth on the dining room table. Mom's ring and mine sat side by side, which they never have: two small diamonds, thirty years apart. Today was the lutefisk dinner. R., retired and at large, was put on the serving line with the melted butter, where I am told he measured. I rolled for six hours.
