What it says

The cabin has a new septic system, finished Friday: a concrete tank, a pump chamber, and a mound in the side yard the size of a hay wagon, which R. assures me will grow grass. The old tank was steel, from 1958. Kangas dug for four days. We were in Ephraim on the 20th for the thirty-ninth. Room 6. It rained, and we read. The robins came down for the turned earth; I counted eleven on the mound this morning.
