Question

Did we ever replace the torn screen in the lake bedroom?
A good answer

Not recorded. In May 2011 the screen on the lake-side bedroom window was torn at the corner; Ray patched it and she wrote "needs replacing". A month later there is a measurement and nothing else (28 1/4 x 39 1/2). No note says a screen was bought or fitted. In September 2023 every cabin window but the kitchen one was replaced, with screens of their own, so the old screen is gone either way. A good answer says what happened in between is not known and does not make up a repair.

One mouse nest in the silverware drawer. The screen on the lake-side bedroom window is torn at the corner. Ray patched it; needs replacing.

Dock: three deck boards soft at the shore end. Ray replaced them Sunday morning with 2x6 cedar from Lakeland Hardware, $41.16. He says the cribs underneath are the real problem.

Left up north for next time: the porch chairs still in the boathouse, the screens for the kitchen windows, the bird feeders.

Cabin windows: eleven new ones, finished yesterday, September 22. Nate Lahti's crew, nine working days. $13,600.00.

Which: every window but the big one over the kitchen sink, which was new in 2018. Three in the main room, two in each bedroom, one in the bathroom, one in the hall.

Double-pane, wood inside, green metal outside. They tilt inward to wash; two catches at the top of each sash, pushed toward the middle.

Guarantees, per the paper Nate left: 20 years against fogging between the panes; 10 on the frames and the hardware; 2 on his own work.

- Three of the sills were soft and were rebuilt.
- Screens come out from inside. They may stay in all winter.
- Do not paint the weatherstrip. (He looked at Ray.)

The storm panels, 22 of them, went away on Nate's trailer.

The shed: Nate came and looked. Sound, dry, 12 x 16, on a slab. He will send a price over the winter.
Traps it covers

only_in_note Facts that are still only in one everyday note after the second pass: the Gustafsons' gate code, the shed padlock, where the Christmas ornaments are, the dog's food and amount, Ray's sizes, the ice-out log from 2004, the main water shutoff, the septic alarm light, Hannah's dorm room, the way to the cabin, the lefse proportions, each lot's share of the plowing, and the size of the lake bedroom's screen. These were not scrubbed from other records on purpose; they are simply things written down once.
