Two years today since Marcus's dad died. He doesn't say the date out loud but he wore the watch, and he called Mama before the kids were up.
He went alone in 2020, eight days, and came home to a lockdown two months later, and I don't think he ever really got to be sad about it in the open. The twins don't remember Baba at all. Nora remembers that he let her hold his glasses.
We have to take them. All five of us. I said it tonight and he said "passports" like it was a wall.
