What it says
End of the year. Camille graduated and left. Mom went on insulin. I got a machine to breathe for me at night. I started seeing a woman and have cancelled on her nine times, I counted. Nobody fell this year. I haven't been on the lake since April.
Mom gave me a card with a twenty in it, same as when I was ten. She'd signed it "Mother and Daddy" and then scratched through "and Daddy."
