What it says

No lutefisk dinner this year. I made lefse here, six dozen, with R. ricing the potatoes at the kitchen table in an apron, with the radio on. We drove them round this afternoon in packages of six and left them on porches: Marlene, Connie, Lorraine, the Nygaards, Pastor Kristin. I rang and went back to the car. Harlan Nygaard came out onto his step in his slippers and held the package up over his head like a trophy. It was 71 degrees. In November. People were raking in their shirtsleeves, and all up and down Hawkstone the car horns were going.
