What it says

Birdie's first weekend up north. She fell off the dock on Saturday morning chasing a dragonfly, went under, came up, and discovered that she can swim, and has had to be carried out of the lake at intervals ever since. R. has acquired a pontoon boat, secondhand, with a canopy. He says it is for the grandchildren and for my knees. Yesterday evening he took Bev and Arnie and me round the whole lake in it at about four miles an hour, with the puppy asleep on his foot. The loons have two chicks. The eagles have one.
