What it says

Shingles. A belt of blisters on the left side from the navel round to the spine, as if I had been branded. Dr. Niemczyk saw it Tuesday, on the second day, and says the pills will shorten it. They have not shortened it yet. I went to school Wednesday anyway and came home at noon. Nothing may touch it. I am wearing R.'s largest flannel shirt, unbuttoned, and reading standing up.
