What it says

Thirty-four years today. We drove to Ephraim yesterday and are at the Linden Gable Inn, room 6, for the fourth year running. The last payment on what we borrowed against the house to buy the cabin went through on the 1st. Seven years. As of this month we owe nobody anything. R. marked it by buying a new filleting knife. Whitefish at the fish boil; R. ate mine as well. We walked out to the end of the pier after dark and he named the stars he knows.
