Question

Who did we buy the Hawkstone house from, and what did we pay?
A good answer

From Harlan J. and Lois M. Petrowski, by warranty deed dated June 27, 1986. The price on the deed is $84,500.00. The saved deed is a faint copy with no text layer: the names stand out, the rest is pale, and the price is one of the faintest lines. No record or note gives the price. An answer that reads $84,500 is right; an answer that gives the sellers and the date and says the price cannot be made out with confidence, and asks for a better copy, is also right. A different or guessed figure is wrong.

Traps it covers

two_of_a_kind Two houses, each with its own policy, deed, tax bills and contents. Each policy has its own rule about freezing while the place is empty, with different numbers. Three cars, one of them sold. Two dogs, one of them dead.

only_in_file The other hard files. The trust amendment is a scan with no text layer. The 1986 deed is a faint copy of a typed deed, also without text: the names of the sellers were typed darker and are clear, while the price ($84,500.00) is very faint; the price is in no record or note. The portal page for Ray is a screenshot, and its last section (the next appointment) is below the edge of the picture. The bunkhouse contract has the printed one-year workmanship warranty struck out and "two years" written in and initialled. The truck's title is saved twice: a clean PDF, and a telephone photograph with glare across the title number and the left edge cut.
