How many of the people in my address book have died?

Question

A good answer

Twelve are marked as having died: Dorothy Haugen (2014), Bea Tollefson (2016), Tim Olstad (2018), Marvin Thorson (2019), Bill Thronson (2020), Jerry Amundson (2020), Don Ostrander (2021), Alice Nettesheim (2021), LaVerne Ostrander (2022), Harold Niska (2022), Lorraine Pfeiffer (2023) and Harlan Nygaard (2024). People who are only mentioned on someone else's card (Judy's husband Stan) have no card of their own. Most cards carry no comment, so this is the number marked, not necessarily the number who have died; a partial read must say it is partial. Gus, the dog, is not a contact.
