A good answer

Six pairs look like the same person entered twice. Five can be tied together from the cards: Kay Sorenson / Kay Sorensen (the church office's Kay, spelled two ways, office number on one and her own on the other); Kathy Laufenberg / Kathleen Laufenberg (a bare card with a mobile number, and the long-arm business whose email is kathy@); Lisa Zastrow / Lisa Ostrander (Don's daughter under her married and her maiden name, same birthday); Fern Aitken twice (Cedar Rapids, and a card that says "new address" in Marion); Betty Nygaard / Elizabeth Nygaard (telephone on one card, address on the other, both mentioning Harlan's death). The sixth, Marv Schoenherr / Marvin Schoenherr, has only the name in common, a number on one card and an address on the other; a good answer calls it probable and says nothing on the cards proves it. The two Tom Halversons are NOT a duplicate: one is a surveyor from Ray's firm in Verona and the other has the first cabin on the lake road. A partial list must be called partial.

Traps it covers

near_duplicate Six people are in the address book twice, each pair the same person entered at different times: two spellings, a nickname and a full name, a married and a maiden name, an old and a new address, a telephone on one card and the address on the other. What ties each pair together: Kay - both cards are the church office's Kay; Laufenberg - the business card's email is kathy@; Lisa - the same birthday, and one comment gives the marriage; Fern - the second card's comment says "new address"; Nygaard - both comments are about Harlan's death in 2024; Schoenherr - nothing but the name, so an answer may only say they are probably the same.

same_name Two different men called Tom Halverson: Ray's survey crew chief from the firm (a 608 number, Verona), and the neighbor with the first cabin on the lake road (a 715 number, 8783 Skein Lake Road, also on the bylaws' list of lots). The cards no longer say that he is not the other; the comment, the number and the address tell them apart.
