What it says
The funeral was yesterday. First Lutheran was full, which at ninety-one means she outlived most of her friends and the church still came.
I read the psalm. My voice held until "from this time forth" and then Nora, who is nine, reached over from the front pew and put her hand on my back, exactly the way I do to her. I don't know when she learned that.
Mom gave me the sølje after, in the blue box, with a letter in Mormor's handwriting from years ago. I haven't read it yet. I will when I'm home.
Dad drove us to the airport and didn't say much. At the curb he said "she thought you were the sensible one."
