What it says

Dad died last night at eight minutes till ten. It was my night. Mom was asleep in the bedroom and I was in the recliner beside him. His breathing had been changing all day, long gaps. I counted one gap at forty seconds and then there wasn't another breath. I sat there a minute. Then I woke Mom. Then I called hospice, and Tanya came at eleven and did what they do, and the funeral home came at one in the morning. Two men in suits at one in the morning, very gentle with him. Called Russ at 10:15 our time. He'd gone back on the 3rd. He didn't say anything for a while and then he said he'd get a flight. Mom is sitting in the den looking at the bed. They're coming for the bed today. I have a list of calls. I'm going to make coffee first.
