What it says
Jiichan's workbench, the one in the garage, but it runs the whole length of a street. the baby food jars are all there, hundreds, and I'm sorting. every screw I pick up is warm. when I look again the jars are full of tiny persimmons, hard ones, and he's at the far end of the bench with his back to me, counting out loud in Japanese, and I know the numbers up to ten and he's well past that.
