what's the serial number
A good answer

Asks which, or gives both and names them. Two serial numbers are saved, each in a note: the iPad (DMPH7K2LQ16C) and the frame of the Trek (T7B3461F).

A good answer

T7B3461F, the frame serial of the 1987 Trek 520, stamped under the bottom bracket.

T7B3461F
no, the one that got stolen
A good answer

Not saved. The stolen bike was the Surly, and its serial number is nowhere in the account. A note from August 2025 wonders whether the shop's 2022 receipt still has it and says to ask Ines; nothing shows that he did. The police case number (MP-25-218846) and the insurance claim number (LH-CL-0092731) are saved. The Trek's serial must not be offered again as the answer.

THE SURLY IS GONE. back stairwell, locked to the railing w/ the U-lock, sometime between 11pm fri and 8am sat. they cut the RAILING. left the lock.
- police report filed online: case MP-25-218846
- Gail: bikes aren't supposed to be in the stairwell (lease). the bike room was full
- Lanternhouse claim opened sat: claim LH-CL-0092731. they want proof of value: I have the shop receipt for the frame (2022) and can price the parts
- value I claimed: 880 (cross-check frame + wheels + rack + dynamo light + fenders, used prices)
8/22: adjuster called. policy covers theft from the building. 880 minus 500 deductible = 380. that's it.
8/29: 380 landed in checking.
registered the serial w/ the bike index too late. do it for the next one FIRST.

only_in_note Most of this account is notes, so "only in a note" is the normal case. The ones the questions lean on: previous addresses with dates and old landlords; references, emergency contacts and income; bank routing and account numbers (four bare lines); what the landlord said about the deposit; Miso's chicken problem; where his SSN card and birth certificate physically are; the penicillin rash; his glasses prescription; his rates; the car's oil; the Trek's frame serial; the iPad's serial (a three-word note); and the car's mileage, which exists only as readings jotted in five notes, the newest 153,208 on 2026-08-29.
